	Active in the early and mid 1950's, Meese had a flexible style that allowed him to illustrate books with a wide range of themes. This, naturally, made him popular with most paperback publishers. His paintings can be found on the covers of Avon, Cardinal, Dell, Gold Medal, Perma Books, Pocket Books, Signets, and some smaller houses.
